The Junior Helpdesk Engineer ensures users receive timely, accurate support for systems and services, enabling smooth business operations. The successful candidate acts as a key interface between customers and service providers, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
Provide advice to customers on available systems, products, and services, following agreed procedures.
Respond to support requests via inbound calls, chat, email or in person resolving incidents and service requests in line with company KPIs and service-level targets.
Record detailed call notes and manage support calls according to company standards.
Stay informed about trends and developments in the information-technology industry.
Facilitate communication between users and service providers (including external suppliers), documenting incidents, tracking progress, and supplying diagnostic information for error resolution and incident analysis.
Perform initial diagnosis of issues, suggest known solutions when applicable, and share knowledge with colleagues.
Collaborate with other departments to help achieve overall company goals and vision.
Protect the company’s data and information by ensuring access is authorised and secure.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in a fast-paced IT helpdesk role.
GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient knowledge of Windows server environments and Microsoft cloud solutions (Intune).
The ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
