We're looking for a dedicated, proactive, and safety-conscious Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Landscape Services team in Tonbridge. In this hands-on role, you'll perform a variety of grounds maintenance tasks — including grass cutting, border work, hedge trimming, and maintaining school sports fields.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, border works, hedge trimming, and sports field maintenance

• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety best practices and escalating any risks to senior staff

• Conducting safety checks on tools and equipment and reporting any issues

• Using materials and machinery safely and correctly, under the guidance of the Team Leader where needed

• Providing excellent customer service and acting as a professional ambassador for Landscape Services

• Communicating with clients, resolving any concerns, and escalating issues as required

• Supporting operational work during adverse weather conditions (e.g., snow clearance, managing flooding)

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor/manual role

• Strong knowledge of horticulture and safe operational procedures

• Demonstrable experience using mowing and grounds care equipment

• Basic knowledge of machinery maintenance

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A self-motivated, reliable individual with a strong work ethic

• Ability to travel to and from Tonbridge

• A Full (Clean) Driving Licence

• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (carried out by us)
