What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for a highly organised Decarbonisation Project Manager to oversee energy efficiency and renewable energy installation projects. The successful candidate will have a strong project management background, experience with renewable energy technologies, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
You will need to have exceptional communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and clients. Your focus will be on customer satisfaction, risk management, and ensuring all projects meet their defined outcomes.
What You’ll Achieve:
As Decarbonisation Project Manager, you will:
- Oversee the successful delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, including LED lighting, solar PV, and heat pump installations.
- Manage projects through all stages, from initial surveys to post-installation sign off.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, timeline, and outcomes.
- Lead tender and pricing exercises, providing critical analysis and ensuring value for money.
- Ensure project budgets, timelines, and quality standards are met, while managing risk and mitigating potential issues.
- Maintain strong contractor relationships, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance and KPIs within LASER’s frameworks.
- Guide and support Project Assistants to deliver optimal results for clients.
- Travel across the UK to oversee project implementation and site visits as required.
- Work on developing and expanding LASER’s decarbonisation project management services.

What We Require:
- Proven experience in managing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, particularly in the public sector.
- Professional qualification in project management, such as APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or another recognised qualification (e.g. Prince2 or PMP)
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of LED lighting technologies, solar PV, heat pumps, and other emerging energy-saving technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- A strong focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to deliver projects within fixed budgets and timelines.
- Ability to analyse tender documents, manage contracts, and oversee contractor relationships.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement rules is desirable.
- Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
